December 29: Saanich, BC experienced an earthquake registering a 4.9 magnitude at 11:39pm Pacific time.
 
It was felt throughout the Lower Mainland with reports of shaken beds and rattled dishes/appliances.
 
No tsunami alert was issued at this time
 
The quake shook beds and rattled dishes, waking people across the Lower Mainland.
